TECHNIQUES FOR WORKING
I create my works in ceramic following traditional, craftsman like techniques and using processes and implements that were first used in the studios of the Artists and Masters of around the 18th Century and the later Renaissance.
Moulding and modeling my pieces by hand and without using a potter's wheel or other mechanical instruments, I create various objects that are unique. I work with different qualities of clay with a variety of diverse characteristics and components. The temperatures used for bakig the clay vary from 900 to 1020 degrees depending upon the type of clay used. Ater the first baking it is already possible to appreciate the secrets of the earth.
The glazing and
the decorations also make use of ancient methods of working and are the outcome of many
years of experimentation and mixtures of chemical compounds. These provide a particular
chromatic effect and the amount of materials used guarantee the quality and uniqueness of
my ceramics.
